Christopher Kimball

Last week we headed to Burlington to see Christopher Kimball, editor of Cooks Illustrated and host of America's Test Kitchen. If people are interested in seeing him in the Boston area he will be at Coolidge Corner on thursday (more details here). I had him sign a book plate for me and got a super cute bow tie stamp under the signature!

That show is the evil! Especially as it's on here at 11 am on Saturday. It gets me good and hungry for the rest of the day even after watching the silly New Scandanavian Cooking show.

Yes actually. He talked about random stuff like practical jokes they have pulled on each other, letters they have gotten, and what articles were the most popular (some to their surprise). Total he probably talked about 30-45 minutes and took a bunch of questions. The whole thing was interesting and fairly entertaining. I suspect that a lot of the material will get reused though, so I do not plan on attending the second one. The major complaint most people had at the other venue was lack of seating and line of sight standing. hopefully it will be a little better at Coolidge.

Since their test kitchen is out in Brookline would you be interesting in seeing if we could head out that way at some point?

Looks like multiple people will be speaking at the Coolidge. I've always wanted to go to one of his talks, but 6pm is a little early for me. Hmm.

Interesting though that he's doing in Edina and not at the Mall of America. Oh well I'll just have to fit in with the rich bitch type over there ;)
