I didn't get around to posting about it previously, but I had a wonderful time with
thanos73,
sarah_barah and
missamay this past weekend. We hit a rummage sale and a thrift shop in search of treasure. (And had a good lunch at Red Bones.) Unfortunately it got late before we could hit anyplace else.
I found a bunch of stuff that I am very excited about. I now have a spinning chair (the folding one), so I have a chair that is the right height when I am working on my spinning wheel. I got a enameled pot to dye in, which I stupidly left in
thanos73's car apparently. A few pieces of clothing including a shirt for Tab that she loves and a red cotton sweater to recycle into "red sock" socks for my sister's fiance. I also found the second and third book of The Sword of Truth Series.
missamay says I squealed with delight at the find, which is probably not inaccurate.
I also hit the Garment District yesterday and found a few pounds of stuff worth getting at a $1.50/lb. Also I got some Special Effects Blue Velvet to do the tips of my hair/my "tassel". By the time I got it home I wasn't sure if it was too purply, but tried it anyways. My hair needs to be trimmed, so I will just cut off the color when I tire of it. I find I really like it, though perhaps I would have been better off with a brighter rather than darker blue. I am very tempted to just do all of it, except that it would be such a pain to grow out or try to redye ot my natural color.
