Tell me a story: Full
Hi Dreamwidth peeps,
I am having a <inset time period>. Want to tell me a story about something that has filled you up. I could really appreciate something beautiful and something that fills you up seems pretty beautiful, no matter how big or small.
Comments are screened so that you can feel free to tell whatever sort of story you want, so if you would like it unscreened just let me know.

Meanwhile, something beautiful... this weekend we went to VA for a friend's daughter's bat mitzvah. While there we arranged time to visit the place formally known as "The Ulvar Hazy Center" but to mortals "the Air and Space Museum extension". It's the place out near Dulles airport where they store the things too big to display in the smaller space on the mall. It has a space shuttle, and a Concorde, and a Blackbird. My younger is usually kind of "meh" on museums, as with many teens. Took them with us to this anyway, and got to watch his jaw bounce off the floor a couple times, including actual utterances of "wow!"
I haven't heard them be impressed by something like that in approximately forever. Getting to play copilot with them in the Shuttle cockpit simulator as we went through a landing was fun - hey, we didn't crash even if we did kind of go laterally off the runway - but seeing them be actively amazed was a special kind of joy.
