There is this really nifty farmer's market in Arlington center (in the parking Arlington parking lot). And it has totally become a highlight of my week. Last time I got some garlic scapes. This week I picked up some potato onions, lemon balm (live) and purple peppers. Everything I have bought at this farmer's market except the last item (which was bought from Dick's Market Garden) has been from Grateful Farm, which I can not say enough good things about. Not only are they organic growers, but they also carry the most interesting heirloom breeds. It is so nice to see someone growing heirloom varieties other than types of tomatoes.

Wednesdays from 1-6:30 pm. You can take the 77 from Porter or Harvard or the 79 from Alewife.

I've been to the farmer's market in Davis on Wednesdays, but not the Arlington one. What are you planning to do with the potato onions? (I love the fact that they're also called "walking onions". Such an image...

I have not yet explored the farmer's market in Davis. I shall have to investigate that further. As for the potato onions I don't have specific plans yet. I hear they are fairly similiar to shallots as far as use. I was also thinking to plant a few.

This sounds much more interesting than what I usually find at Davis. I'll try to check it out after work this week.
