Street Parking
May. 3rd, 2005 10:46 pmSo we (read Roger) was in the middle of parking tonight, when this lady pulls next to us and rolls down her window. "Do you have a resident sticker?" she asks snidely. Roger was surprisingly polite. No we don't (points to sign that states "No parking from 8am to 7pm"; this is at 8 pm) but you don't need one to park here. She responds with "well you know I could call the parking people" and after waiting to see if it looked like we were going to leave, drives away.
I have no idea what to make about this other than just that she wanted the spot. Am I overlooking a more generous reaction? Absolutely none of the parking in the area is resident parking overnight (which begins at 7pm), although some spots are resident only during the day (but this one was absolutely no parking during the day for anyone anyways).
