Wild Catch

What a great birthday present! I released the Beverley Malibu yesterday at an icecream place called "the Chilly Cow" after I stopped by the farmer's market which was in a nearby parking lot (mmmm garlic scapes). By the time I woke up this morning I had a journal entry from an enthusiastic worker there. No new member right now, but they sound intrigued so who knows about the future.

Spinning

In an effort to relax and just slow down a little bit I actually did some spinning last night. I managed to finish another skein/bobbin worth of yarn for Roger's mittens. I am not sure exactly how much I will need, but I think it will be about 3 skeins. While I was spinning Roger turned on Geek Farm Life Podcast, a podcast I only discovered recently.

Somehow I had fogotten how much I like spinning. As I don't really enjoy working on a drop spindle, this isn't an incredibly portable hobby, but it is so soothing in its smooth repetition.

CSA Week 2

What a difference a week makes! There were a lot more options this week. Also I took the time to help out since they were short handed this afternoon. It was a really good experience and if I can take the time I would like to do it again.

This week I picked up:
a big bunch of mint
some fresh oregano
2 heads of romaine lettuce
1 head of iceburg lettuce
1 bunch of french radishes
2 swiss chard
some broccoli
snow peas
1 6-pack of zebra tomato plants (green striped)
1 6 pack of merigolds
