Holey Child
Jul. 13th, 2010 10:08 pmChiquita has been "dying a death of a thousand and one papercuts" waiting to get her ears pierced. My big thing was that I wanted it done at a piercer and not by some teen in a mall with a piercing gun. The logistics and timing took some work, but she finally got them done today at Chameleon in Harvard Square.
Her piercer was named Owen, and I can't say enough good things about him. He spoke directly to her, and listened when she talked. He was also very positive, and didn't try to surprise her. He went through what he was going to do and when. Then when he did it, he let her know right before, letting her feel more in control and less nervous.
Chiquita was surprised by how painless it was after the initial piercing. The second one was a little worse than the first, but still no tears. And she is quite taken by the sparkly. We will see how she sleeps tonight.
