What's small? A small batch of chili for me is a couple of quarts, while a couple of gallons would be about average. 10 gallons and up move into the large batch range. You lookin' for single bowl servings, like cup-a-soup, ramen, or some such? Freeze portions out of whatever size works for you and you'll be all set. Enjoy!
Roger wanted me to make a batch that would feed the 3 of us with no more than 4 cups left over (~quart). I don't think it is possible. I happen to greatly enjoy chili that has was made in advance. It lets the flavor develop. I think the batch I am working on will be a couple quarts.
I think you're wrong; friend's tummies were meant to house leftover chili. For instance, my tummy is very empty right now & now it want's Omly's chili. Quod erat demonstratum.
