Batch of Chili

Has anyone here actually been able to make a small batch of chili? I am about ready to declare it impossible.

Um yeah... recipe... um put chili ingredients in pot in order that makes sense to me. It is more an issue of the fact that I eyeball it by ratio I think. Given the amount of dried beans that seems "reasonable" when I start the rest sort of follows. (We do new england chili around here.)
