Yeah so I finally have pictures online of the babyshower gift for my soon to be nephew. This was my first sweater ever, so it had some issues but overall I am pretty happy with it even though it was before I figured out how I was twisting the stitches. I felt like the sleeves were short, although they are the length the pattern says they should be. Fortunately someone let me borrow their 6 month baby long enough to establish they are indeed about the right length. My favorite thing about this sweater is just that it is made of superwool; it is washable! Baby things especially things like sweaters really need to be. The hat is merino though.

To this non-knitting-clueful eye, they look fine. The shade of blue reminds me of a sweater that mother knitted for me back mumblemumble years ago, where she managed to get something wrong on the tension in the stitches and effectively produced Knitted Armor. She regarded it as a failure, I adored it and wore it until it had practically disintegrated.

I talked to knitting-type people today and they pointed out what I was doing weird. It was consistent through the whole piece though so I guess I'll live. It is really cool that you still remember the sweater your mom made so fondly. I hope my daughter has similar memories someday.

Indeed :) She is getting big too. After the school year starts I might bring her into Deisel one of these days.
