And the Wait Continues

Arg going crazy with no knitting! I actually had a woman ask me at church if I knit, because sometimes the sermons get dry and it can be helpful to have your hands busy. I don't know what sort of on-edge nervous lunatic I looked like. MUST KNIT SOON. For some reason I was convinced the torch was to be lit in Torino tomorrow. Nope 4 extra days of waiting to cast on...

So I knit a gauge square for this sweater (only Roger wants it as a cardigan) in Rowan Calmer (in calm no less). It seemed auspicious. You heard me; I love this boy so much I would let him have the project made with my 10 skein stash of Rowan. That is love, people.

I've always always wanted a cable-knit "fisherman's" sweater.

Every time I've seen them in my size (hardly ever, mind you), they are in 100% wool. Which makes me all itchy.

Only if you get REALLY bored. And of course I'd buy the materials, etc.

*g* I don't think bored is the operative word here. Life is to crazy. But I do like my hands busy when I am forced to sit for a while (such as on the bus and during seminars). Have you looked for patterns of what you would like, and have you thought about materials?

You may have better luck finding patterns with the serach term "aran" rather than "fisherman". Is this the same thing as you were talking about?

Finally! Someone who understands! Although at our Christmas research group lunch, my advisor said that she is in favor of it so that your mind doesn't wander. I am completely taking that as mild encouragement to do seminar knitting this semester.
