Peabody Essex Museum
Aug. 23rd, 2005 12:53 pmSunday Tab, Roger and I went to the Peabody Essex Museum. Specifically Roger wanted to walk through Yin Yu Tang, which was wonderful and highly recommended. Also we saw the Kingdom of Siam exhibit.
"Hey Tab look at this. It is a seated buddha. What do you think this one next to it is?"
"A seated buddha"
"You're right! What about the next one?"
"A standing buddha?"
She caught on quickly, but does not think that I am funny.
I really liked Yin Yu Tang, but Tab thought is was boring. The guided tour thrilled her not at all, and of course she wasn't allowed to touch anything. She said that the idea of her whole family living together hin one house with all of those bedrooms was weird, but it was interesting that she even thought to connect the idea of the house and the family structure that would have lived in it to her own family.
