I ventured out of the house briefly in order to get sourcream (for beef stroganoff; I love Roger), milk (dangerously low), unsweetened kool-aid (sadly unsuccessful), Wilton's frosting dye (for roving), and pick up Tab from daycare. Surprisingly it barely even rained, which was not to say that it was dry. In this adventure I discovered chain grocery stores really do not like you to bring reusable grocery bags. It seems to be a personal assault to their ease of bagging or something. And then when I finally get the point across that really I do want to use this perfectly good bag that I have brought all the way from my house with me, they start trying to sneak things into plastic bags to then be put in the reusable bag. Ahhh! No, please, no more plastic bags!

Glee! Canner
May. 15th, 2006 09:15 pmSuccess! Pressure canner has exchanged hands and is slowly warming up in our kitchen. It needs a good cleaning, but looks to be complete. Kim said that she had used it for making beer (though not actually canning) and that it was able to come up to pressure fine. I have already informed my family that I want mason jars for my birthday. Squee!
