I just found a cute little program that shows the phase of the moon in your taskbar. Unfortunately it is only available for Windows.

I use MoonDock which shows the moon phase in the dock on Mac OS X.

Thanks! I knew that I had seen such a program for a Mac, but sould not rememeber the name of it for the life of me.
